A short history of one place

In November 2017, the construction of Vendo Park in Chodzież at Buszczaka Street began and was completed in August 2018.
Vendo Park was built on the site of the abandoned Porcelain Factory No. 2 and the ruins of a former medieval castle, which was probably built in the final period of the Potulicki family's rule.

Throughout its history, the castle passed from hand to hand until it ended up, in very poor condition, in the hands of Count Königsmarck, entrepreneurs Hermann Müller and Ludwik Schnorr, who built a faience factory here.
At that time, 3,092 people lived in 272 houses in Chodzież.
During World War II, the Germans established the "Porzellan und Steingutfabrik A.G. in Kolmar", and in 1942 the faience was replaced by semi-porcelain called porcelain.
After the war, the plant resumed production and produced its products until the transformation period, when it was closed and demolished, except for the castle part. During the demolition of the building, the historic chimney was destroyed.
In its current shape, the building does not resemble a castle, only the walls themselves prove that there was once an old building here, in which several shops were located, including the "Grochola" bakery.
For some time, good quality bricks were recovered from here and sold.
This was the end of a certain phase of the castle and the factory, which provided jobs for the inhabitants of Chodzież and the surrounding area.
